The Diamond Butterfly Award Will Open Doors to New Audiences
On the eve of the Diamond Butterfly ceremony, a roundtable on the Eurasian Academy of Cinematographic Arts was held at the Russian Cultural Foundation. Around 30 representatives from Russia, China, Turkey, South Africa, Uzbekistan, Iran, Serbia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Indonesia and other countries discussed the significance of uniting cinema under the Diamond Butterfly.
The roundtable was moderated by Ivan Kudryavtsev, head of the Moscow International Film Festival selection committee. He noted that countries represented in the Eurasian Film Academy account for a third of the world's population, a quarter of the global economy, and 30% of worldwide box office.
Representatives discussed co-production opportunities, creating a joint theatrical network, and the Diamond Butterfly's role in promoting national cinematographies to global audiences.
