Over 30 Films Submitted for the Open Eurasian Film Award Diamond Butterfly

The list of 34 films submitted for the Open Eurasian Film Award Diamond Butterfly has been announced. Films come from Russia, China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Cuba, Senegal, South Africa, Pakistan, Belarus, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran and others.

Award categories: Best Film ($1M), Best Director ($250K), Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer, Best Composer, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Production Designer, Best Film from Outside Eurasia, and Prize for Contribution to World Cinema.

Each Diamond Butterfly statuette is created by artist Yuri Kuper, featuring approximately 5,000 diamonds. The butterfly symbolizes gentle power, resilience, faith, hope and the continuity of traditional values.
