Synopsis

When student Khalilou learns that his mother has developed cancer from skin depigmentation, he decides to take a stand against life-threatening beauty standards. He poses as a girl named Leila to enter a students' beauty pageant dominated by light-skinned contestants and give dark-skinned girls a chance to shine. The film touches on self-esteem, identity and the fight against prejudice with humour and emotion.
